A closer look.

The project comprised the extensive refurbishment and extension of a protected structure in Ballinasloe town centre, incorporating partial demolition, basement excavation and the construction of a new rear extension.

Specialist conservation works included the careful retention and protection of the original street façade, roof trusses and decorative ceiling cornices while the existing roof was removed and replaced. The works also required careful management of challenging groundwater conditions due to the site’s proximity to the River Suck.

The project successfully delivered upgraded commercial accommodation while preserving the character and significant architectural features of the original building.
